Last week I had another cardiac check-up. It went pretty much as expected (which is great) and we left with a prescription the be filled and a follow-up appointment booked.

Snapshots of Christmas

We travelled a lot over the holiday to spend loads of time with friends and family. We kind of live in the middle of everyone – we’re about an hour and a half (give or take) away from each group: both sets of parents, my sister & her husband (and daughter).. and a little further still from my grandparents. Christmas (and most holidays) have us travelling to catch up with both sides, and this year with Kasper was no different.

Spreading Cheer

Christmas has come & gone for another year. This always makes me sad; it means new years is soon and another year comes to a close.

It was our little man’s first festive season & the hubby and I were super excited. We didn’t want to set up crazy expectations for future Christmases, so we gifted more useful items – food pouches, soothers & soother straps, a touque because it’s super cold here, and the like. Of course there was a toy or two from us, but extended family definitely spoiled him in that department.

Little man got a good few developmental toys  –  alphabets, shape blocks, a toy to promote crawling. My parents surprised both their grandbabies (my niece & my son) with a sled each! Hubby has already added straps and a buckle, and we took little man for a stroll down the street & back. It was quite blustery that day, so we didn’t stay out too long.

I mentioned on my last post that U waa hoping to have enough time to make mommy & me matching outfits. I’m happy to announce that i finished them just in time. I didn’t get a great photo, but I did snap this on my phone:

I used the Alleycat Romper pattern from Lil&Luxe for Kasper’s duds and I used the SFR pattern from Patterns for Pirates for my shirt.

I can see many more of each in my sewing future! Stick around for more photos and sewing projects!

7 Months

Be prepared for an overload of cuteness! 7 months of Kasper. Its amazing to see just how much he’s changed – how he’s filled out, how his eye colour has shifted from blue to green, how his expressions have gotten more wild and fun. Smiles, frowns, sleepy faces… This little wonder has stolen my heart and soul and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Continue reading 7 Months

Where does the time go!?

SO way back in August I said I’d try to set aside some blogging time… good idea. terrible execution! Its DECEMBER now and Santa is coming soon.

I always love Christmastime, but I have to say that it seems like a bigger deal with a little tyke. Our son is going to be 8 months old two days before Christmas and I couldn’t be more pumped… but before I dive too much into Christmastime festivities, lets rewind a whole bunch and get caught up!

Still here, I promise!

Maternity leave has been shaping up to be much busier than I was anticipating. With appointments for me and the mini plus visiting family (especially my little niece and my sister!), it doesn’t leave much downtime. I am really hoping to set aside some bloggin time for myself as there is much I want to document for memories sake! If you’re still with me, here are some things you can look forward to on the blog:

  1. An introduction to my little bundle (who is nearly 4 months old and not so little anymore)
  2. Hobby updates – I’m still crocheting, but it’s hard to find time! I’ve started a new hobby and I’m hoping to capture some photos to share with you
  3. Highlights from the summer so far
  4. New hair!!!
  5. Summer reading (on book 21 of a great series)

If it all goes according to plan, I should have time to write some posts later this week and schedule a few updates for when things get crazy again (when are they not crazy!).
Until then,

Thanks for sticking around.
